Jackson netted two goals and set up a goal for teammate Cole Palmer, helping the Blues secure an impressive 3-0 win on the road in the Premier League.

It means the 23-year-old Senegal international has now registered four goals and two assists across his opening five top-flight appearances of the 2024-25 season.

Redknapp has picked both Jackson and Palmer in his Premier League Team of the Week for BetVictor, naming the former player as his ‘star man’.

‘I’ll say this quietly, but Cole Palmer is putting up numbers that could rival Erling Haaland’s,’ Redknapp said.

‘He got on the scoresheet again this week with that expertly taken goal to put Chelsea 3-0 up away at West Ham.

‘He creates chances and goals constantly, making him the complete attacker. To go away in a London derby and keep a clean sheet like that will give Chelsea a right boost!

‘Alongside him there’s none other than Nicolas Jackson. What a performance. In a three-goal game he goes and gets two goals and an assist.

‘Enzo Maresca will be incredibly pleased with him. He was outfoxing the Hammers no end, they didn’t know what to do with him!

‘There are signs this could be a prolific season for the 23-year-old, provided he stays fit. He’s my star man this week.’

Alan Shearer has also named Jackson in his Premier League Team of the Week, while he has awarded Manager of the Week to Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca.

‘A thrilling display from Chelsea’s centre-forward,’ Shearer told the Premier League website about Jackson. ‘He scored with two excellent finishes and displayed his all-round ability with a nice assist.

‘[Enzo Maresca] seems to be getting the best from the wealth of talent at his disposal. Chelsea are emerging as a real threat.’
