New Delhi: Jaya Bharadwaj, the wife of India pacer Deepak Chahar, penned an emotional note for her husband's former IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK). On Monday, November 25, Mumbai Indians (MI) acquired Deepak Chahar in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
Deepak came into the squad of CSK in 2018 and became an important player of the side until the 2024 season. The 32-year-old pacer played 76 matches for the side, claiming the same number of wickets, and played a crucial role in team’s title victories in 2018, 2021 and 2023.
In the 2021 season, Deepak proposed to his now-wife, Jaya Bhardwaj, in the stands of Dubai following a match against Punjab Kings. On Monday, Jaya shared a heartfelt message for CSK on Instagram, expressing her feelings:
“From cheering in the stands to celebrating love on the field where I said “yes” in front of the whole crowd. My heart will always be tied to this team. Forever grateful for the wonderful memories @chennaiipl.”

Meanwhile, the couple tied the knot on June 1, 2022.
Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians secured Rajasthan pacer Deepak Chahar for ₹9.25 crore during the 2025 mega auction.
The 32-year-old has featured in 81 IPL matches, clinching 77 wickets. He also represented India in 25 T20I ad 13 ODI games, claiming 31 and 16 wickets respectively.
