New Delhi: Reports suggest that the upcoming Indian Premier League mega auction could be held in either Riyadh or Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. While Dubai in the UAE, which hosted the IPL 2024 auction, is still an option, it is not currently being considered by the BCCI. The IPL 2025 mega auction is expected to take place towards the end of November.

Based on a Cricbuzz report, finances are not a problem for BCCI as they are the richest cricketing board in the world, but finding a suitable venue is. It has been learnt that the costs are much higher in Saudi Arabia than in Dubai. London as a venue for IPL 2025 mega auction was initially discussed, but the BCCI chose not to travel to the United Kingdom due to cold weather that time.

The BCCI and IPL officials are looking for a place where they can host the entire IPL entourage – which includes representatives of 10 IPL teams, BCCI and IPL officials, and two large teams of broadcasters – Jio and Disney Star. The IPL 2025 mega auction is going to be a two-day affair.
